A long established family owned tour operator, Avalon Waterways serves over 500,000 passengers each year. Since its introduction in 2004, Avalon has launched one new-build each year, with 2014 seeing three introduced. As a small ship cruising company, Avalon has developed a unique cruise experience. The spaces are bigger, and now include 360 panoramic views for an epic viewing experience and the excursions are enrichment focussed and tailor-made.
All river cruise itineraries are designed to showcase a range of inspirational and exotic locations, both near and far-reaching, from the fairy tale castles of the Rhine to China’s dramatic Yangtze River.
As the world’s youngest fleet of river cruise ships, Avalon’s vessels have an average age of two years and feature a sleek, modern design and feel. All of the ships set the scene for a stunning cruising experience, with sun-decks, pools and the latest modern technology on board.
Avalon operates 16 ships for just European rivers alone and a further seven to traverse the worldwide rivers of the Amazon, Mekong, Galapagos and the Yangtze in China. With a wide range of itineraries stretching across the globe, there is a trip for even the most discerning of travellers.
Book between 28th August and 31st October 2019 to save up to £2,000 per couple on all our 2020 cruises*.

Nearly all the staterooms on board feature beds facing the windows, with the Panoramic and Royal suites also offering wall-to-wall windows, allowing for incredible and unparalleled sights of the river cruising.

Every meal is made part of the journey on an Avalon River Cruise, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner the very best of regional cuisine. Each cruise begins with Captain's reception, including complimentary sparkling wine and canapés and a five-course welcome dinner. Breakfast and lunch are both served in a buffet style with the option to order additional entrees.
